School Produce Market

Our goal is to help alleviate child hunger in our communities by providing healthy food and local, harvest grown produce when seasonally available.

The School Produce Market is designed to use the safe and stable environment of schools to increase children and families’ access to fresh, healthy food and produce through a monthly farmers market style distribution.

Schools are one of the Foodbank’s biggest allies in the fight against childhood hunger. The Foodbank provides over 200 families with fresh seasonal produce on a monthly basis. featuring a fresh fruit or vegetable that is being harvested at that time. Participating families will also receive cooking demonstrations of the harvested food and recipes.

School-Based Pantry Program

The mission of the School-Based Pantry Program is to help alleviate child hunger in our communities through the provision of food to children and their families at school.

School pantries located on the grounds of a school building are intended to provide a more discretionary and readily accessible source of food assistance to food insecure students and their families. Sites are consistently in the same location as the school’s campus have set distribution schedules and offer on-going food assistance services throughout the school year.

When schools partner with the Foodbank, we have a greater chance of ensuring our children have the nourishment they need to lead healthy, happy lives.
