Grocers stepping up as Virginia Peninsula Foodbank reels from loss of Farm Fresh donations
Farm Fresh was the third largest food donor to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, and the loss of those stores will affect the nonprofit’s ability to feed hungry residents. But other grocers and businesses plan to step up to help.
“We have scaled back our expectations for this coming year,” Virginia Peninsula Foodbank CEO Karen Joyner said. “There’s no way we can serve as the same level without Farm Fresh being there.”
