106.9 The Fox & FM99 Mayflower Marathon Holiday Food & Fund Drive
November 22 - November 24
We need your help to fill the holidays with hope & nourishment
106.9 The Fox and FM99 proudly present the 28th Mayflower Marathon Holiday Food and Fund Drive, presented by Bud’s Plumbing Heating, Air Conditioning and Electric, and hosted by Kroger at Coliseum Central to bring joy, happiness and nourishment to families across the greater Peninsula who are experiencing food insecurity. The Mayflower Marathon Holiday Food Drive, benefiting Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, will take place November 22nd through November 24th.
The Mayflower Marathon is our largest holiday food collection and your donation of Funds and/or Food will help put thousands of meals on the table for families experiencing food insecurity. Hunger can impact a home without any notice, as we experienced with COVID-19. For those that were already facing hunger, their food insecurity has been magnified. New faces of food insecurity were reaching out for help.
Now, our most vulnerable individuals are impacted with additional hardships and difficult choices due to the increase in food and fuel costs. Food often takes the back burner when having to decide on paying rent, utilities and for medication. Your neighbors need you now more than ever. No one should be having to make difficult choices when it comes to your health and well-being. The reality is, any one of us could find ourselves in this situation. While it’s difficult to see what is happening to our neighbors, your support is helping them get through their difficult times.
It isn’t easy to ask for help, but it is easy to give! This 57 ½ hour food drive makes giving easy – simply drive through and donate without getting out of your vehicles. Volunteers will be on site to collect your donation.
Your support will make a significant impact to help children, families, seniors and veterans who are missing meals and lacking the daily nourishment they need to live a healthier life.
