Titans DB Webb, Helps Tackle Hunger on Peninsula

As the school year winds down in Hampton Roads, many students are celebrating the completion of another milestone in their academic careers. But for some, not being in school poses a problem because the free and reduced-price lunch programs aren’t active in the summer.

The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank is trying to bridge the gap by offering free meals at several sites in Hampton and Newport News through its Summer Food Service Program. The program will feed more than 1,100 children across 18 sites.
