Hunger is defined as a strong desire for food or the discomfort, weakness, or pain caused by a lack of food. Unfortunately, there are too many people living in our service area that are all too familiar with the feelings of hunger. Families struggle daily to put nutritious food on their tables, or children go to school looking forward to their free or reduced lunch instead of concentrating on their school work. Our goal is to reduce that hunger. We have a strong network of community partners that come together to provide the most basic necessity – food.

Last fiscal year, we made strides towards our vision of inspiring hope by leading the effort for a hunger-free and properly- nourished community by distributing over 11 million pounds of food. We packed 1,450 bags of food each week that were delivered to 27 elementary schools to go home with children on the weekends through the BackPack Program. We cooked and delivered over a thousand meals a day to 27 Kids Cafe sites, where children go after school to receive mentoring and a hot meal. We operated 20 Mobile Food Pantries that delivered hundreds of thousands of pounds of fresh food to families that often sacrifice fresh produce and healthy proteins in favor of paying a hospital or electric bill. All of this could not have happened without our most important asset, YOU. Because of you, we ARE hunger relief.
