WHEN SCHOOL IS OUT, HUNGER IS IN!
Foodbanks experience extreme shortages of food donations during the summer months.
June 1 – AUGUST 30th
We are reaching out to all federal agencies asking for your participation in the Feds Feed Families Food Drive to help stock the shelves at the food bank during the summer months. Summer months are tough on foodbanks because donations drop tremendously, and the need is still great. Children who rely on free and reduced breakfast and lunch are out of school and still need the nourishment to enjoy their summer break, free from worry about where their next meal is coming from. Hunger doesn’t take a vacation.
We have food drive boxes and posters to get you started on your collection. The most needed items are:
Canned meat (tuna, chicken, ham)
Canned Fruits and Vegetables
Low Sodium Hearty Meaty Soups
Peanut Butter and Jelly (the kids love it)
Macaroni and Cheese
Fruit Cups and Oatmeal (for seniors)
Family Size Box Rice (or small bags)
Pasta Meals and Sauces
100% Fruit Juices
