Governor’s Bowl Chamber of Commerce Food and Fund Drive
May 27 through July 4th
2nd Annual Governor’s Bowl kicks off on May 27th through July 4th in an effort to keep the Foodbank’s shelves stocked for the summer months. Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell , the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks joined efforts in 2012 to create a friendly competition among all Virginia Chambers of Commerce, their member businesses, and state government offices. The Chamber or government office that raises the most pounds of food (every dollar donated will equal four pounds) will be awarded a prestigious and highly coveted “Governor’s Bowl” in the categories of small, medium, and large for Chamber offices and a special bowl for the top government office. Governor McDonnell will personally deliver awards to the winning chamber offices after the conclusion of the “Governor’s Bowl.”

Change for Charity Meter Program

Six organizations are designated each year to partner with PTC and will benefit from a percentage of the coin proceeds.

The donations from Change for Charity represent 100% of net ticket proceeds and a percentage of meter revenues. The more guests park at Peninsula Town Center metered locations throughout the year, the more charities will earn - so spread the word! When guests feed the meters and pay their tickets, donations on your behalf support local charities.

All organizations are evaluated primarily of their efforts to support youth and families on the Peninsula.

The Change for Charity Meter Program is one of the most recognizable components of the Peninsula Town Center Community Foundation due to the direct relationship that exists between your parking meter and ticket payments and local charities.
