For more than 20 years United Way's First Call Information and Referral Service has provided referral to hundreds of health and human service programs throughout the Peninsula and Middle Peninsula. Today First Call also provides shelter referral for the homeless in our area.

The H.E.L.P. Free Clinic is a free medical care facility that has been operating in Hampton, VA since 2001. The clinic seeks to provide an environment of healing and compassion to serve the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the medically disadvantaged in Hampton Roads. With volunteer physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and lay volunteers, the clinic provides free medical exams and whenever possible, free medication. The clinic relies heavily on partnerships with local hospitals such as Sentara and Riverside to provide lab and x-ray tests and medication. The clinic provides no-cost specialty referrals, diabetic counseling and educations, and has a small in-house pharmacy.
